Kudakwashe Makanda, popularly known as Kaybass, has stepped into the professional music scene with the release of his debut single, “Dololo”.

The gospel-sungura track features vocals from Tysan Njanji and was produced by Tino in Harare, marking an exciting start for the emerging artiste.

Inspired by Sir Benjami Rupapa, Kaybass said he is ready to push boundaries and explore his musical potential.
“I’ve released my first track because I now feel ready, having studied the industry over the past 10 years. My passion for music started back in primary school,” he shared.

The journey, Kaybass admits, was not without challenges.
“It hasn’t been easy, studio fees, transport, and other costs made it difficult. But I’m committed. I’ll continue writing and recording more songs as I grow,” he said.

Beyond his solo work, Kaybass leads a live group, Neostar Band, which performs at venues including the Palace Hotel. He is also a key member of the ZAOGA Nkulumane branch, renowned for his powerful vocals and guitar skills. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
