SOUTH Africa’s most sought after AmaPiano DJ Kelvin Momo is set to visit Bulawayo for the first time in his career as he will be headlining the Heroes Day celebrations on 11 August at the Cosmopolitan VIP Club.

The Bo Gogo hit maker will not touch down the City of Kings alone, he will be accompanied by the equally gifted Mzansi wheel spinner DJ Tease.

The Heroes Day serves as a solemn reminder of the heroic sacrifices made by liberation war fighters who committed their lives, energy and dignity to the birth of an independent Zimbabwe.

As such, Cosmopolitan always commemorates this special day by hosting a top act every year, so that young people can celebrate through music and dance and be reminded of who they are and where they come from.

One of the organisers of the show Mduduzi Mdlongwa from 3D Events said the artistes have confirmed their participation for the show which is meant to unite the city’s AmaPiano lovers as they celebrate the Heroes Day.

“The Heroes holiday is meant to celebrate the liberation of Zimbabwe through the people who dedicated their lives to fight for the nation and liberate it for us, especially young people to enjoy freely.

“It’s very important for all of us to remind ourselves of the people who sacrificed their lives for us and one of the ways of celebrating this day is through music and dancing.

“As such, we are bringing Kelvin Momo to Cosmopolitan because he validates our VIP experience concept and he matches the calibre of the artistes that we believe can have an appeal to many AmaPiano music lovers in Bulawayo,” said Mdlongwa.

He said to spice things up, they had to rope in DJ Tease so as to strike balance in terms of audience’s musical touch preferences.

“Kelvin Momo and DJ Tease both have similar qualities in the musical space and they both like to experience the soft private school kind of music. That is why we decided to bring them together for this clash in the city.

“As we host such an event every year on Heroes Day, we believe that we must always maintain the standard so that people have fun on this special day. Those who will attend should expect a VIP experience at a place full of jubilation — that reflects freedom,” said Mdlongwa.
