Organisers of the KwaNtuthu Comedy Festival Board have announced two key changes to this year’s festival line-up.

Festival director Maforty said they sincerely apologise to their valued audience, partners and stakeholders for any disappointment this may cause.

“Firstly, The Dark Nights Stand-up Comedy Show has been removed from the 2025 programme. This decision follows careful consideration and consultation with our creative and logistical teams to ensure a balanced and high-quality festival experience. We understand that this segment has been a favourite for many.

“Secondly, there has been a change in the Theatre Night hosting lineup. The festival will now feature stand-up comedian Tinotenda Lebogang as the new host for Theatre Night, taking over from Mbongeni Ignatius. We thank Mbongeni for his past contributions to the festival and wish him continued success in his creative journey. These adjustments have been made in the spirit of growth and improvement, as we continue to refine the festival experience and maintain our commitment to promoting Zimbabwean comedy, theatre, and film,” said Maforty.

Maforty added that they deeply appreciate the understanding and unwavering support of the audience, partners, and the broader creative community.

“The KwaNtuthu Comedy Festival remains dedicated to delivering laughter, creativity, and authentic storytelling through its remaining events — including Theatre Night and Short Film Screenings,” he said.
