Six armed robbers stormed a fast-food outlet at Mbizo 4 Shopping Centre in Kwekwe, making off with cash and a luxury vehicle with a combined cost of US$10 361.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the incident occurred around 10 pm last weekend, with the robbers brandishing a pistol and holding a security guard hostage.

“They stole US$361 from the till and a Mercedes-Benz worth US$10 000 belonging to one of the patrons who was at the shopping centre, which was later abandoned nearby,” he said.

Police, Insp Mahoko said, are seeking information to apprehend the suspects.

He urged anyone with leads to come forward
