GUADELOUPEAN producer Motsek and Zimbabwean singer Lalla Martin have joined forces and collaborated in a unique musical project that blends their diverse backgrounds.
Guadeloupe is a French island in the Caribbean and its most famous son is football star Thierry Henry.
Motsek produced Lalla’s new Ep titled “Echoes of Us” that has four tracks – “Siyakuphi,” “The Other Side,” “Julien Mercier,” and “Lost in Harare.”Lalla said the project is an exploration of the challenges facing today’s youths and the complexities of love.
“The conversations for a collaboration started on Instagram where we both could view each other’s work.
“I think we were both excited to create something together. “After carefully observing the influence of drugs and social ills to the
generation of today, the thought of expressing it in a song came.
“I believe we are a lost generation searching for clues, comfort, answers and acceptance, the need to belong and fit into this complex world thus falling into addictions.”
Born in Bulawayo and now based in Harare, Lalla wants to inspire and uplift her listeners by tackling real-life issues and emotions with honesty.
Lalla was once signed by a South African record label Khox Entertainment and did quite a number of international collaborations.
