Popular South African DJ and television personality Lamiez Holworthy has undergone emergency surgery after being rushed to hospital, her management confirmed on Sunday.
In a statement, management said Holworthy required an urgent surgical procedure, forcing the postponement of her remaining appearances that were scheduled for Sunday and Monday.
While details surrounding the medical emergency were not disclosed, management sought to reassure fans and business partners that her condition is stable.
“We would like to inform the fans, clients, event promoters, partners and stakeholders of Lamiez Holworthy that she was rushed to hospital and required an emergency surgical procedure,” management said. Management confirmed that the situation is not critical, stating: “We confirm that her condition is not life-threatening.”
The medical emergency has disrupted Holworthy’s professional commitments, with organisers of affected events expected to be contacted directly regarding alternative arrangements.
“This will affect remaining events tonight and on August 10. We sincerely apologise to event promoters, organisers, clients and partners for any inconvenience caused,” management said.
According to the statement, revised dates for postponed bookings will be communicated once Holworthy has recovered and received medical clearance to return to work.
“Management will contact affected parties and will issue revised dates for bookings once Lamiez has been medically cleared to resume her professional commitments,” it added.
Management also appealed for privacy as the well-known entertainer recovers.
“We kindly ask for your prayers and that her privacy be respected as she takes the necessary time to recover.” – IOL News
