ZIM hip-hop artist, Lee Kayaz, is set to drop his EP, dubbed ‘Ndivhurirei,’ on May 30.
In an interview, Lee Kayaz said the four-track project is a prayer to God following years of financial challenges.
The EP features fellow artists such as Acquillah K and Bleu Ice and explores themes of love, rejection and girl child rights.
“Our industry is not for the poor. If you don’t have money surely your career will either die or be stagnant.
“I really struggled financially during the recording of this Ep but I had to dip into my savings and do side hustles to come up with this masterpiece.
“This taught me that the industry is not as friendly as people paint it to be.
“I’m glad I had a team that supported me and the two artists I collaborated with are a true definition of what humility and patience in the industry is.
“This masterpiece is my prayer to have doors opened for me as I have not reached where I ought to be. It also has some teachings for the girl child on the track titled ‘Mwanangu’ and the mood is then lit up on the track ‘Party All Night’.
“I’m also working on the videos for the songs which I’m hoping to drop starting this July,” said Lee Kayaz.
