Lekompo star Shandesh recently broke her silence amid the shocking cheating allegations that have been making headlines this week.
The singer, whose real name is Nelly Rakgoale Machete, released a statement through her lawyers on Tuesday, April 14, addressing the rumour and threatening to take legal action against those who are spreading “defamatory and demeaning allegations” against her.
In the statement, she first clarified that her relationship with her partner, Mimi Mogale, who reportedly cheated on her, ended months ago.
“We confirm that our client was previously in a romantic relationship with Ms Mogale, popularly known as ‘Mimi’, and their relationship ended (dissolved) a few months ago,” the statement noted.
Furthermore, the Limpopo-born musician also revealed that she broke up with Mogale due to undisclosed personal reasons.
“Our client confirms that Ms Mogale is aware that they had parted ways for their own personal reasons, and as such, it remains defamatory for those who may be involved with Ms Mogale to continue dragging her name in the murky waters for their own relevance or popularity,” the statement read.
Shandesh and Mogale’s relationship timeline
The Limpopo musician and Mogale’s relationship started gaining public attention in early 2025 when the pair began sharing heartfelt content on each other’s social media accounts.
The couple took their relationship to the next level when they publicly announced their engagement in early January.
However, fans noticed that in Shandesh’s recent videos, she no longer wore her engagement ring, which prompted curiosity about her relationship.
The musician maintained her silence, and it is only now that she spoke on the matter for the first time.
A content creator alleges that she was used by Shandesh’s ex-fiancée
The shocking cheating allegations came after a popular content creator, @theselfmadebarb, alleged that she had an affair with Mogale while she was still in a public relationship with Shandesh.
The content creator also made shocking claims about their relationship on TikTok, saying that she felt used by Mogale because Mogale would contact her when she only needed her help.
“I don’t do people’s people. This relationship has been done since last year. What I hate is someone that will treat me like s***t when they think it’s convenient,” she shared.
The content creator further alleged that since their relationship ended months ago, they were just pretending to be in love this whole time.
Mogale addresses the cheating allegations
Mogale also shared a video on TikTok speaking on the allegations, saying that she deserves the backlash and not Shandesh.
She further added that she takes full accountability for her actions and further stressed that people should leave Shandesh alone. — IOL
