A LIST of socialites in Bulawayo being accused of promiscuity has gone viral on WhatsApp.

It comprises models, politicians, comedians, business tycoons and DJs who are allegedly notorious for bed-hopping.

Some of the people who were fingered, and who laughed the list off in interviews with The Chronicle yesterday are Babongile Sikhonjwa and model Cyclone Ree.

Sikhonjwa, a comedian, said the list was created by a “still-minded” individual who had nothing to do with their life.

“Yes, I saw the list and I laughed, because people have nothing better to do with their lives. Anyway onto more important issues, my first recording since the accident is finally out and that’s what’s gone viral. The track is called Khonapho Khonapho and was produced by DJ Wexey. People should look for it,” he said.

The listed people were categorised into three inclusive of high class females, low class females and males, with some identified by the nightspots they frequent while others by the cars they drive. Others’ full names were used especially in the male category.

Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said: “I don’t comment on social media because if I do I’ll be commenting everyday.”

The list’s origins are not known but some say it came from a group chat of Zimbabweans in South Africa, while others believe it originated from a group chat of Bulawayo socialites.

Cyclone Ree said when she got the message of the list she could not stop laughing.

“The list just adds to my controversial CV. It’s good for people to laugh for one day and forget their stresses. However, this list was compiled by someone who copied the Harare one that was released sometime this year,” she said.

A similar list was released sometime last year of Harare socialites and caused a storm.

The list included top artistes, models, politicians, business tycoons and bankers who are allegedly bedding each other in the capital.
