PERSONS with disabilities should be given equal opportunities to learn, work, do business and contribute to the country’s development.

This was said by philanthropist Dr Justice Mhishi on Friday when he donated wheelchairs and sewing machines at an event at Nyamaropa Primary in Shamva.

The event was also attended by Shamva North Member of Parliament Isaac Chinodakufa, councillors, village heads, beneficiaries and community members.
Dr Mhishi described the wheelchairs and sewing machines as tools of empowerment, dignity and hope.
“Wheelchairs restore mobility, sewing machines create opportunity for self reliance,” he said.

“I have come to support the vision and the mantra of his Excellency, the President, Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, who continues to remind us that we must leave no one and no place behind … No one chooses disability and no one should be excluded because of disability. Every person deserves respect, opportunity and a chance to fulfil their God-given purpose.”

Beneficiaries thanked Dr Mhishi and MP Chinodakufa for working together to help the community.
