SUNGURA ace Alick ‘Baba Sharo’ Macheso is set for shows at festivals in a number of countries where he will mingle with some renowned artists.
The tour could last about four months.
Macheso made the revelations on stage at Gatsi Complex here during a show where he was supported by the ageless Hosiah Chipanga on Saturday.
Macheso’s arrival on the stage was greeted by a wave of joy among his fans.
He took a short break around 3am and then returned to close the show in style.
“We have been going to perform outside the country but on short stints. This time we will be taking a longer sojourn as we are billed to perform at festivals around the globe.
“That should be from the end of this year till sometime next year.”
His management team wanted him to leave the stage earlier, but the seasoned artist insisted on satisfying his fans.
He continued playing until around 5:30am.
“I wanted to keep playing but those in charge have made their decision. I respect it a lot the same way I respect you the people of Chegutu.
“I deeply thank the fans here and our fans all over the country for their unwavering support. You can see we have a big team.
“That’s a band of at least 35 members and we want work to flow so that we also manage to fend for them.
“Our promoters, both local and abroad, are doing a great job.
“They create an opportunity for us and we do not disappoint both our fans and our handlers. We also cherish it when they make us share the stage with artists from across cultural boundaries.
“The cross-cultural mingling boosts our knowledge and skills in the industry.”
