CLEMENT MAGWAZA is back and he’s bringing fire!
After four years off the stage, the Tshibilika hitmaker is set to shake the music scene with a massive comeback album dropping on 1 November, and fans are already foaming at the mouth with excitement.
The new project, still untitled, is being cooked by Magwaza himself and promises a catchy fusion of his traditional Tshibilika sound with a twist of Maskandi, Afro Pop and Batswana beats.
“This album is everything,” Magwaza told B-Metro. “It’s bold, it’s fresh, and it brings together the sound of Southern Africa in one powerful package.”
And he’s not coming back alone. The multi-award-winning maestro has teamed up with Botswana’s top talents Slizer and More Fire, along with Afro Pop heavyweight Kholwane Dubia, turning this comeback into a continental celebration.
“It has been an incredible journey over the past two years,” he said. “Every track could be a hit. Choosing the leading song for the title has been the toughest part. I poured my heart into this.”
To drum up support and excitement, Magwaza is launching a hard-hitting Matabeleland tour, with stops in Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, Binga, Nyathi, Mbalabala, Filabusi, and Maphisa. But this isn’t just about hyping the album, it’s also a clever fundraising mission to bankroll his official album launch.
“This is about more than just performing,” Magwaza explained. “We want to raise the money needed for a proper launch while getting the music to the people where it belongs, on the streets, in the taverns, in their homes.”
His Botswana crew will be tagging along on tour, proving that cross-border collaboration isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a strategy.
“They’ve always supported me and now I’m returning the favour. These shows will give our fans something fresh while bringing Southern Africa’s sound under one roof,” he said.
The return of Magwaza comes after years of silence that left many wondering if he had hung up his mic for good. But true to his resilient nature, the man behind hits like Umpalakazi (2013), Khal’ Uphethe (2018) and Sgida iHosana (2021) is roaring back like a lion waking from hibernation.
Industry insiders say the new album could cement his status as a Tshibilika legend with one foot in tradition and the other in the future.
“If this project lives up to the hype, Magwaza will not just reclaim his throne, he might just take Tshibilika global,” said a local music promoter.
