MEDICAL students at Mashoko School of Nursing recently witnessed a dramatic scene when a divorced woman stormed the institution, demanding to see her former house maid, whom she is accusing her of ruining her marriage.
Ruvimbo Muringayi confronted the school officials after discovering an illicit affair between her ex-husband, Munashe Gumunyu (39), and Prisca Dembe (25), her former maid.
Ruvimbo and Munashe’s marriage of 13 years collapsed.
She blamed Prisca, whom she accuses of having an affair with her husband, during her five-month stay at their home, as a maid.
It is believed Munashe rented a room, where he would spend time with Prisca.
Prisca eventually applied to study nursing at Mashoko School of Nursing and her application was approved.
She quit her job.
After Ruvimbo found out that Prisca was now studying at Mashoko, she travelled from Harare to Bikita, where the school is located, and caused a scene at the institution.
Prisca confirmed the existence of the relationship and said the incident forced her to apologise to Ruvimbo, in front of her lecturers.
“I was shocked to see Ruvimbo at our school. I felt as if I was naked,” Prisca said.
Prisca said she quickly informed a staff member, who advised her to remain calm and apologise.
“I did exactly that and Ruvimbo left,” she added.
She also claimed that Ruvimbo was expecting her third baby when she began living and working for the couple.
“At one time, there was even domestic violence at their home—Munashe once slept in the garage,” Prisca claimed.
She said Munashe later bought her a new cellphone, and the relationship deepened from there.
She later learnt that Munashe decided to cancel their marriage certificate.
“I regret dating a married man. It was childish and lack of guidance. I now regret it deeply,” Prisca said.
She said she has since received counselling from her church elders and her parents, and she is now focused on her studies.
She said Munashe wanted their relationship to continue, but she refused.
She claimed he responded by taking back the cellphone he had bought her, without giving her time to remove her SIM card and contacts.
Prisca alleged that Munashe has since been messaging her male and female friends.
“As we speak, he is busy communicating with my friends,” she said.
Munashe told H-Metro:
“My wife learnt about it when I posted Prisca’s photograph on my profile picture.
“Prisca told her that murume haatorwe, anoenda, zvikanzi wakadii kusungira imbwa yako and such a response provoked my wife.
“It was a moment of madness, my brother. I regret it.
“I want to believe it was a case of some love portions or bewitchment.”
Ruvimbo confirmed that she caused a scene, saying Prisca provoked her emotions.
She said Prisca sent messages implying that the housemaid had now become a nurse.
“Those messages emotionally affected me,” Ruvimbo said.
Ruvimbo claimed one of the church members referred her to Prisca when she was expecting and, within five months, Prisca allegedly seduced Munashe.
“I phoned her and she went on to brag about bedding my husband. That is why I decided to travel and confront the officials.”
