MALLOTI has gone ROGUE but IS SHE ABOVE THE LAW?
Yes, say some of our readers.
No, say the others.
So, what will it take for her to be reminded that bragging about taking drugs and exploding into X-rated vulgar rants on social media is not allowed under the country’s laws?
Just two months ago, a 23-year-old British footballer, Thierry Nevers, who bragged on Instagram about drug dealing, was jailed for three years.
Nevers once played for West Ham, Newport County and Bradford City.
Nevers was arrested on August 13 last year and police said he was a “known Instagram content maker, bragging about drug dealing in his videos”.
Yesterday, an H-Metro poster, asking whether Malloti was above the law, had attracted more than 860 comments on Facebook just after the lunch break.
It underlines the interest in her case among our readers, in particular, and the public at large.
On Monday, Malloti was live on TikTok boasting about smoking marijuana and drinking Bronco (Broncleer).
The following day, she made another live on Facebook pretending as if nothing happened.
There is growing concern over her behaviour among ordinary Zimbabweans who are now questioning whether her provocative personality is pushing boundaries too far.
At least, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe has now added its voice.
NACZ spokesperson and marketing manager, Agga Nyabinde, said:
“We expect more from Malloti as she is a role model to many people. As NACZ we are advocating for a drug-free society.
“The other part of us is glad that she has admitted to the fact that she used to do hard drugs but, as a public figure, she needs to do better.”
