Man (20) up for “raping” neighbour’s 12 year-old daughter

A 20 YEAR OLD Bulawayo man has appeared in court for allegedly raping his 12-year-old neighbour.

The man, from Badminton Farm, who cannot be named to protect the victim’s identity, appeared before Western Commonage regional Magistrate Mr Pasipanodya Maturure, facing a rape charge. He was remanded out of custody to November 21 for continuation of the trial.

Prosecuting, Ms Christina Manyika said the alleged incident occurred on October 30, during the day.

“On that date, the accused person went to the complainant’s place of residence and found the juvenile alone,” she said.

The court heard that the accused person persuaded the complainant to accompany him to her bedroom where he ordered the girl to remove her clothes before allegedly raping her.

A police report was made leading to the accused person’s arrest. The complainant was later referred to hospital for a medical examination.
