A Milton Park man in Harare was yesterday humiliated by sex workers for failing to pay a negotiated US$20 for services rendered.
Identified only as Tony, the man engaged a 19-year-old self-proclaimed sex worker popularly known as Mai Chimwana, at around 10pm on Tuesday for a one-night stand.
He had been on his way home but ran into temptation, which he could not resist despite his near-empty pockets -he only had US$10 yet he settled for a US$20 “invoice”.
Tony, who refused to disclose his marital status, was led to Gail Court flat along Samora Machel Avenue.
However, he ran into problems after failing to pay.
Mai Chimwana teamed up with her colleagues in forcing Tony to sit on the floor naked while threatening to drench him in raw sewage.
They confiscated material that Tony had intended to give his client the following morning.
Tony told H-Metro that he could not afford to miss the opportunity to bed Mai Chimwana even though he did not have the agreed fee on him.
He did not communicate his predicament and chose to gamble.
“I met this lady at corner 6th and Central Avenue when I was on my way home and entered into the transaction. Upon reaching the apartment, I was shocked to see five different beds in the room.
“Other ladies came around 2am and I was disturbed by their presence. They however, asked me to be comfortable with Mai Chimwana.
“The other ladies were peeping from their blankets, and this kept me awake the whole night as I was fearing to lose my belongings.
“I wanted to take her to my client so that she hands over the banner and be given the money and take her US$20 and give me the balance,” he said.
Mai Chimwana said Tony understood the room setup before she took him to the flat.
“Tony wanted to leave without paying the agreed fee and this forced me to call for support from other ladies. He had money but did not want to pay and besides the services provided he got overnight accommodation.
“Tony negotiated from US$40 and I agreed to the US$20 because I was feeling cold and wanted to get off the streets,” said Mai Chimwana.
