A 50-YEAR-OLD Ntabazinduna man has been jailed for 15 years after a court found him guilty of raping his ex-wife in a bushy area near Sonjini, Mbembesi.
Bekezela Dlangamandla, whose surname literally warns that “he eats violently without permission,” lived up to his name when he dragged the complainant from her homestead into a nearby bush where he violated her. He resides at an unknown stand in Madlela.
Prosecutor Siphiwe Mhlanga told the court that on 1 April 2025, Dlangamandla grabbed his ex-wife, forced her to lie down and had sexual intercourse with her without consent.
The traumatised woman later told her daughter what had happened. She reported the matter to the police on 4 April, leading to his arrest.
Bulawayo Regional Magistrate Joseph Mabeza said the accused had displayed violent and predatory behaviour and deserved a harsh penalty. He sentenced Dlangamandla to an effective 15 years behind bars.
