A 36-YEAR-OLD Buhera man has been arrested after he allegedly stole an ox worth US$350 from his neighbour’s kraal.
He then allegedly attempted to dispose of it through a local cattle buyer in Chimombe Village.
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed the arrest of Ngonidzashe Makaripe, on Sunday.
“On August 1, and at around 6pm, the complainant, Webster Dzvairo (40), secured nine head of cattle in his kraal at Chimombe Village.
“When he returned the following morning, he discovered that the kraal had been unlawfully opened and one grey ox with small horns and white patches, valued at US$350, was missing.
“While searching for the animal, the complainant was advised by a cattle buyer that a man had approached him intending to sell an ox matching the description of the stolen beast.
“Acting on the information, police tracked the animal to the homestead of Tafadzwa Kanhukamwe in Chimombe, where the suspect was arrested,” he said.
