MAHETSHE Secondary School sports arena in Maphisa has been confirmed as the official venue for the 2026 Independence Gala.
The event is expected to provide a significant boost for artistes from Matabeleland South and neighbouring regions, offering them a national platform to showcase their talents and creative expertise.
A senior government official confirmed the venue selection, adding that preparations for the gala are already underway.
“The gala will be held at Mahetshe Secondary School sports arena. We recently convened a meeting to kick-start preparations. The line-up will feature many artistes from the Matabeleland region,” said the official.
More details on the programme and performers will be released as preparations progress.
