Her dream is to become Naomi Campbell of Zimbabwe after having been in the modelling industry for eight years.

For model, Pauline Marere the dream is possible after having won more than 20 pageants.

On Saturday, she was crowned Miss Supranational Zimbabwe and is now set to represent the country in Poland in June.

Pauline beat 12 other contestants at an event, which was held in Polokwane on Saturday.

The competition started two months ago after the licence was acquired by a South African, Ntombi Gumende, the owner of Miss Teen Universe South Africa.

The contestants flew to South Africa for the competition.

After two years, the pageant will be hosted in Zimbabwe.

She has been to Miss universe, Miss world, Miss supranational, Miss Grand International and Miss Earth where she has performed well.

“Winning this prestigious title is a dream come true because l have been longing to be part of the big five pageants Just to showcase my talent and modelling skills to the rest of the world.

“It’s really a huge accomplishment in my modelling career. It’s an opportunity that will help me to market the brand Zimbabwe to the rest of the world as well,” she said.

Pauline’s secret to her success has been hard work.

“My winning secret is patience and hard work, l have learnt that all good things in life requires patience and while waiting for mu turn and time to shine l also work hard towards my goal.

‘It’s been 8 years of working and perfecting my modeling skills and I am happy to be where l am today.”

She added that she will not retire anytime soon.

“I really feel like l owe Zimbabwe a title from the big five pageants and l am working towards achieving that dream.

“We are a very talented nation and l believe we deserve to be seen globally.

“After leaving pageantry l want to establish my own modeling school which is my main plan for this year.

“I believe l have acquired enough groom and raise international winning models.

“I want to create a legacy that will go on for years until Zimbabwe becomes a powerhouse in the pageant world.

“I will not really modelling because I have received some offers to do international runway in New York and Seychelles starting from end of this year so l might be the Naomi Campbell of Zimbabwe.”

She has picked a few lessons from the pageantry.

“Models should keep pushing and spreading love to one another. We all should help each other especially when it’s time for international pageants.”
