ZANU PF Mashonaland East Province has unanimously agreed and resolved that the party’s First Secretary and President, Cde Mnangagwa, be allowed to stay in power beyond 2028.

The announcement was made by Mashonaland East secretary for Legal Affairs Cde Pension Chiutsi at the provincial coordinating committee meeting in Marondera yesterday.

“All the districts in Mashonaland East Province gave us their resolutions. We compiled all of them. Mashonaland East 2025 annual resolution, number 1 says the President and First Secretary of Zanu PF, His Excellency Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa shall remain in office at the helm of the party and Government to fulfil Vision 2030,” said Cde Chiutsi to loud applause.

The province, among other resolutions, also resolved that the party should review and implement past resolutions.

It also resolved that the election promises are fulfilled and implemented.

The province called for Chitepo School of Ideology to be decentralised with speed. This came as ZANU PF chairman for Mashonaland East Province Cde Daniel Garwe also implored the province to remain loyal to the President as well as to the ruling party.

He said Vision 2030 was unstoppable.

“The President has done a lot for us as Zimbabwe. Remember as soon as he came into office, the nation faced and experienced the devastating Cyclone Idai, and the money meant for development was then used to assist Cyclone Idai victims. Next was Covid-19. A lot of money was used to secure medicines and other necessities to assist the people of Zimbabwe. Next was the issue of drought, but no one starved in Zimbabwe. All those interventions needed money and our President made sure people are saved.

“In all those disasters, President Mnangagwa showed that he loves us as Zimbabweans. This is why we are saying Vision 2030 is unstoppable. It is so because we have seen the good works, the love and the commitment to transform our livelihoods.

“President Mnangagwa is a unifier. He is a man of wisdom and a strategist,” Cde Garwe said. He went on to applaud Mashonaland East for the resolution that calls for President Mnangagwa to stay in office beyond 2028.

He also implored the party to be loyal to the President and all the leaders.

“Let us be loyal to the President. Let us be loyal to the party. Loyalty is critical.”
