PEOPLE across Mashonaland West today ignored calls for demonstrations, with business and public services proceeding normally in towns and cities across the province.
In Chinhoyi, the provincial capital, shops, banks, Government offices and other businesses opened as usual, while vendors and other informal traders are continuing with their daily activities.
A similar situation is also prevailing in Kadoma, Chegutu, Karoi, Kariba and Norton, where normal economic and social activities were observed.

Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo, who toured Chinhoyi’s central business district this morning, said the province remained peaceful and calm.
“I want to thank the people of Mashonaland West for ignoring calls for demonstrations and choosing to remain at their workplaces and continue with their daily activities,” she said.
She said peace and normal business operations across the province reflected the people’s commitment to development and productivity.
