UNITED Kingdom-based theatre practitioner Enisia Mashusha has thrown her support behind Braveman “Baba Harare” Chizvino after he announced his return to Jiti, the genre he left last year to focus on gospel music.
The 36-year-old singer’s decision has sparked debate, with some fans welcoming his return and others questioning the move. Mashusha, with nearly three decades in the arts, says his choice should be celebrated.
“Some religious leaders pressure born-again artistes to abandon their original genres. Diversifying into gospel is beautiful, but it should come from the heart, not obligation,” she wrote on Facebook.
She added, “Not every born-again person is pure, and not every artiste who avoids gospel is a sinner. A person’s artistic gift is a blessing. Welcome back, Baba Harare! It’s great to see you sharing your talent authentically through Jiti music.”
Mashusha joins other high-profile supporters, including Madam Boss and Tinashe Mutarisi, affirming that Baba Harare’s comeback is embraced by fans and peers alike.
