Award-winning artiste Master H, born Hillary Marufu, has recently shared insights about his trending song, “Haudi Kudiwa,” which translates to “It is difficult to love you.”
Featuring up-and-coming songstress Anika, the track has already garnered over 150 000 views on YouTube, sparking conversations across social media.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts Hub, Master H explained that the song revolves around love and reflects contemporary relationship dynamics.
“It’s a heartbreaking love song inspired by the current status of relationships and marriages,” he said, highlighting how societal influences shape his work.
The idea for “Haudi Kudiwa” emerged during a phone call with fellow Zimbabwean artiste Qounfused, based in UK.
They agreed that featuring a female voice would enhance the song, leading to Anika’s involvement.
Master H praised her versatility and eagerness to collaborate, stating, “She jumped on board without hesitation.” The music video was filmed in South Africa and was directed by the reputable Mula VIP Rentals.
Despite speculation regarding the secret behind his successful collaborations, Master H remains unfazed.
“I won’t defend stories about my collaboration. People are entitled to their opinions,” he remarked, highlighting that his focus is on creating quality music.
He believes that while he has crafted hit songs solo, collaborations stem from his creativity and passion for nurturing upcoming talents.
His previous collaborations with notable artistes such as Tamy Moyo, Jamaican sensation Capleton, Kae Chaps, Nutty O, Bagga and Freeman, showcase his commitment to artistic synergy.
Looking ahead, Master H aims to penetrate the Nigerian market, stating, “My musical career has evolved beyond measure.” Expressing gratitude for his supportive fan base, he aspires to create music that resonates with wide audiences. When asked about a new album, he teased fans with, “Always expect the unexpected from ‘The Genera,” assuring them that an album will be released when the timing is right.
