A fresh wave of hip-hop energy is emerging from Bulawayo, and at its core is Bonginkosi Nate Ncube, a young rapper who goes by the stage name PrittyFamous. Determined to make his mark, the Gwabalanda-bred artiste is turning heads with his talent, confidence, and relatable storytelling.

In just the past two weeks, PrittyFamous has released two impressive singles, Sabawela and Khuphuka, both rich in lyrical depth and life lessons. His music reflects the experiences of young people navigating everyday struggles while remaining hopeful and focused on success.

For someone whose passion for music began at a tender age, PrittyFamous is now stepping out boldly, ready to test his creativity in a competitive industry.
“I’ve always had the feeling that music is the path for me. I believe in the saying, Practice makes perfect. When I started, I wasn’t very good at writing music, but I kept improving until I began receiving positive feedback from those who inspire me, like Fab G Umfanakagogo,” he said.

Growing up, PrittyFamous looked up to Fab G not only for his lyrical prowess but for proving that success can come from Bulawayo, a city often overlooked in the national music scene.

“Fab G showed me that it’s possible to build a name from Bulawayo, even when the journey isn’t easy. There aren’t many studios here, and sometimes local artistes don’t get the support they deserve. I once attended the Bulawayo Shutdown, and that experience taught me a lot about stage presence and professionalism from established acts,” he added.

Now focused on growth, the young rapper has been recording new material and refining his sound.
“I’ve managed to record three more songs to add to my catalogue, and two of them are already complete. I’m preparing to release them soon.” – @mthabisi_mthire
