JAMIE CARRAGHER and Micah Richards had a brutal war of words on live TV over Mo Salah – before Thierry Henry stepped in by giving a MASSAGE.
The Egyptian, 33, did not travel to Milan for Liverpool’s Champions League showdown with Inter.
Arne Slot made the decision to leave him out after Salah claimed he had been thrown under the bus and has a broken relationship with his boss during a bombshell interview.
The forward hit out in the Elland Road mixed zone, after he was left on the bench for Liverpool’s stalemate with Leeds on Saturday.
And Anfield legend Carragher had a blazing row with Premier League title-winner Richards live on air when they were in their punditry roles for American broadcaster CBS.
Richards, 37, said: “We’re talking about one of the greatest players ever to grace the Premier League.”
Carragher responded: “But people are criticising the manager for not bringing him on. I’m not criticising the manager.”
To which Richards added: “I’m understanding the frustration of Mo Salah wanting to come on the pitch.
“I’ve said he’s wrong. I still think he’s wrong for coming out and said that. So I agree with that point.
“But I also understand that the calibre of player, he would want to play. He would be frustrated.”
Carragher, 47, claimed: “We’ve all got that frustration. But when we’re looking at the manager and there’s people out there saying, ‘oh, he should bring him on’, without looking at the context…”
Richards then fired back, saying:
“You wrote in your column two weeks before he’s got the weekend to save his job. So you’ve had that opinion on the manager as well.”
Arsenal icon Henry, 48, then tried to defuse the situation by bizarrely giving Carragher a massage. Salah was named among the substitutes in each of Liverpool’s last three games before being dropped from the match day squad against Inter Milan.
And Carragher had earlier argued with Richards over whether Salah should have been brought on at Leeds.
The Kop icon said: “What bit do you understand of him?”
Richards replied: “His frustration. All what he’s done. Not going on in games.”
Carragher then questioned: “What games should he have come on in?”
Richards added: “I would have put him on against Leeds.”
But a gobsmacked Carragher said: “When?”
Richards pushed back, saying: “When they needed another goal. Leeds were in the game, putting on pressure. And at times they could have been exposed on a counter-attack.
“You know Mo Salah. You know his record from previous years. He can get you a goal. Yes, his form has not been great. But I understand his frustration.” But Carragher was having none of it and commented: “They’re winning 2-0. Leeds come back to 2-2.
“The ball’s in play for about three minutes before Liverpool score to make it 3-2.”
Carragher had already ripped into the forward on Monday Night Football, claiming the comments were made publicly in an attempt to get Slot axed.
He said: “He’s chosen this weekend to do this now and he’s waited for a bad result, they’ve conceded a last minute goal. The Liverpool supporters, the manager, the whole club feels like it is in the gutter at the moment, and he’s chosen that time to go for the manager and maybe try and get him sacked.
“That’s the way I felt about it.”
Slot spoke out in an interview ahead of the showdown with Inter and revealed what he said to Salah before the bombshell claims – and whether the Liverpool legend has played his last game for the club.
There was some good news for Slot though as Liverpool ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a late penalty.
He later spoke out about Salah returning and admitted it has “been emotional”– Sun.
