MASHONALAND West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo is meeting management and councillors from councils in Chegutu District as part of moves to foster accountability and improved service delivery.
The meeting is part of an ongoing initiative to promote peer review and improved services in local authorities in the province.
The meeting is being attended by officials from Chegutu Municipality, Chegutu Rural District Council and Norton Town Council.

Officials from Kariba Municipality, Chirundu Local Board have come on a learning mission to a programme that brings councils in each district.
Laying the ground rules, Director Local Government in the province, Mrs Cecilia Chitiyo, said the interface was important to help interrogate service delivery benchmarks, accountability and help councils learn from each other.
To date, Makonde and Sanyati districts have been covered with local authorities being commended, reprimanded and guided on service delivery lapses.
So far, Chinhoyi Municipality, Makonde Rural District Council, Sanyati and Kadoma City Council have shared challenges of salary arrears and poor revenue collection with others having better strategies that others could learn from.
