Minister Sanyatwe mourns sungura legend Nicholas Zakaria

Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Lieutenant General (Rtd.) Anselem Sanyatwe, has expressed profound sadness at the passing of Zimbabwean music icon, Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria.

In a post on his social X account, Minister Sanyatwe described Madzibaba Nicholas as a sungura legend whose music significantly enriched the nation’s cultural heritage.

“It is with deep sorrow that I learnt of the passing on of Madzibaba Nicholas Zakariah,” he said.

“He leaves behind a void that makes our arts sector poorer. His contribution to Zimbabwe’s music landscape will never be forgotten.”

The Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the Zakaria family, friends, and countless fans who cherished Madzibaba Nicholas’ music over the decades. He said the sungura master’s legacy will continue to inspire generations of artists and music lovers.

“Rest in peace, Nicholas Zakariah,” Minister Sanyatwe concluded.
