Minister Soda tours US$20 million solar power project in Gweru

THE Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Zhemu Soda, is touring the site of the US$20 million, 20-megawatt Clover New Energy solar power plant at Almid Pvt Ltd in Gweru.

The visit is part of the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services’ tour of key development projects across Midlands Province.

The Clover New Energy project demonstrates Zimbabwe’s growing partnerships with private investors in the energy sector and complements existing electricity generation at Hwange Thermal Power Station and Kariba Dam.

The tour is expected to highlight the role of independent power producers in supporting Government’s efforts to improve electricity generation, strengthen energy security and drive industrial and economic growth.
