Tafadzwa Kuveya, Miss Glamour Zimbabwe, says balancing modelling and a professional career requires effective time management, clear boundaries, and a strong support system.
For the 22-year-old, last year was a year of unexpected twists and turns for her as she was supposed to focus on her career only.
Kuveya modeling journey took off in 2025, and she was crowned Miss Glamour Zimbabwe 2025.
The model has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and she completed her ACCA exams in 2024, Kuveya was poised for a successful accounting career. But little did she know, the universe had bigger plans.
In an interview with Zimpapers, Kuveya expressed how pageantry changed her life.
This opportunity took her to the international stage, representing Zimbabwe at the Miss Africa International Pageant in Abuja, Nigeria.
“Last year was an exciting year for me. It brought new opportunities and I got to be in new spaces I had not expected. I officially started my modelling career last year and immediately got the opportunity to be Miss Glamour Zimbabwe 2025.
“For the past 3 years I had been working hard to be an accountant and had finally finished all my ACCA exams in 2024 and I thought that 2025 would be an amazing year for my accounting career alone but I was surprised to realize that the year had more in store for me.
“My role as Miss Glamour Zimbabwe also opened up an opportunity for me to participate in the Miss Africa International Pageant that was held in Abuja Nigeria.
“Not many people get the opportunity to participate in an international pageant and repeat their country, however I am very privileged that my first year as a pageant model was filled with great opportunities.
“I am happy to have shined and raised my flag high in Nigeria and managed to receive an award for best of evening gown during the final competition. I am also happy that it was not a flawless experience, but it was also filled with challenges and some ‘failures’ too.
“I had hoped to also win the Miss Africa International pageant but was not able to, however I hope to continue developing myself as a model and continue my to represent my country in the future,” she said.
She currently serves as a senior audit associate at MGI Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe, where she is admired for her professionalism and diligence.
Beyond her corporate career, Kuveya is the founder of Awack Beauty, a brand she established at 20 with the empowering motto “Be Bold and Beautiful”.
Her brand encourages women to embrace their individuality and confidence, a reflection of her belief that true beauty stems from self-assurance and purpose.
