MODEL Mitchel Vakirai’s dream of conquering Africa is fast becoming a reality.

She is set to leave for Nairobi to take part in the Miss Teenager Africa pageant running from tomorrow to next Tuesday.

The 18-year-old, known for her vibrant personality, will compete against 19 other teenagers from across Africa.

In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Zinzile Mantiziba, the director of Miss Teenager Zimbabwe, expressed optimism, saying Vakirai is destined for greatness.

“Our participant, Mitchel Vakirai, at Miss Teenager Africa, set for Kenya from the 18th to the 24th of March, is ready to take part in the continental pageant,” Mantiziba said.

“She has what it takes to make an impression in Kenya, and we are glad that we have selected the best model from those who participated.

“Mitchel comes from Masvingo, she is beautiful, tall, and confident as well.

“We are doing our best to make sure that she leaves a lasting impression in Kenya.”

Mantiziba, who is no stranger to grooming young models, revealed that his door is still open for sponsors and other partners to ensure that Vakirai’s stint bears fruit.

“About 20 African countries are taking part in the pageant, and we hope our representative will stand out.

“We have done everything possible to ensure the visit is memorable, but such assignments require considerable sponsors who can assist in preparations with things like air tickets, accommodation, and the girls’ per diems.

“Also, at the moment, she is one of the top four viewer choices,” she added.

Zimbabwe has continued to shine in pageantry, and later this week, Vakirai will be under the spotlight.

With the right support and preparations, she could further elevate Zimbabwe’s reputation in the world of pageantry.
