SOUTH Africa-based hip-hop sensation Mlue Jay is officially back, and he is making sure everyone knows his name.

On Good Friday, the Bulawayo-born, Johannesburg-based artiste released his second single of the year, “Nguye Lo”, a high-octane Trap/Rap anthem that is already sending ripples through the southern African music scene.

Following the massive success of his previous hit, “Sinda”, which featured Jepedoh from the Qwellers and racked up over 100 000 views on YouTube, Mlue Jay is doubling down on his momentum.

“Nguye Lo” (translated as “It’s Him”) serves as a bold declaration of self-belief and identity. Produced by the skilled Redtailbeats, “Nguye Lo” (translated as “He is the one” or “This is him”) captures Mlue Jay at his most confident.

The lyrics serve as a masterclass in self-assertion, with the artiste flexing his status and representing his hometown pride with an unapologetic “I am him” energy.

The track’s assertive message is designed to resonate with anyone striving to leave a mark in their respective field, turning personal ambition into a universal anthem for the bold.

For Mlue Jay, “Nguye Lo” is about maintaining that upward trajectory.
“Consistency is key in this business and that’s what I want to be known for,” he remarked regarding the release.

By delivering back-to-back high-quality projects, he is successfully solidifying his position at the apex of the emerging local hip-hop scene.

The single was recorded at his YeahWeLit Entertainment Studios and is being distributed via Sol Distro, Africa’s premier platform for independent talent. This partnership ensures that his sound reaches a global audience while maintaining the creative integrity that has become his hallmark.

With its infectious energy and top-tier production, “Nguye Lo” is poised to become a staple in playlists across the region, further proving that when it comes to the future of Zimbabwean hip-hop, Mlue Jay is indeed “The One”. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
