MOLELI High School has made remarkable strides in academics, achieving a 100% pass rate at both O’ and A’ levels in the 2024 ZIMSEC public examinations.
This was the first time the school achieved such impressive results.
Moleli High School has an enrolment of 721 learners.
All these are borders.
Fortune Gundani, the school headmaster, said this feat is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students, teachers and parents.
Notably, 57 students scored 5As and above at O’ Level, while 14 candidates achieved 15 points or better at A’ level.
Moleli High also excelled in co-curricular activities, competing at national levels in chess, quiz, and tennis.
The school’s quiz team came fourth at the nationals, while Tadanaishe Undani won a bronze medal at the Chess national competitions and is set to compete at the 16th African Youth Chess Tournament.
“On the academic front, we keep on recording remarkable strides as we thrive to remain one of the best schools in the country. Our pass rate stands next to none in the province.
“In the recent academic year (2024) we attained a 100% pass rate at O’ Level and also a 100% pass rate at A’ Level. We remain the best school in the Province at O’ Level and second best at ‘A’ level. At O’ Level we also remain the best school amongst all our sister Methodist Schools in the whole country.
“This 100% pass rate achieved at Ordinary level saw the school achieve a feat that had not been achieved before. Of note is the fact that of the 117 candidates who sat for O’ Level 57 of them scored 5As and above and this translated to 49% of the candidature,” he said.
Running under the theme “Transforming Lives,” the event highlighted the impact of education on individuals and society.
The guest of honour Tafadzwa Sandura emphasised that education can break the chains of poverty, empower communities, and create leaders and innovators.
“Behind every successful school lies a team of dedicated administrators and teachers who labour tirelessly, often behind the scenes.
“Moleli High School has, over the years, demonstrated that strong leadership, coupled with a passion for teaching, produces results that go far beyond the classroom.
“To the teachers: you are not just transmitters of knowledge, you are builders of character. You nurture talent, discipline, and resilience. You plant seeds today whose fruits will nourish communities tomorrow.
“You are unsung heroes in the development of our nation.
“I urge you to continue being role models, mentors, and guides. Never underestimate the impact of your words, your patience, or your encouragement. A single positive word from a teacher can ignite a lifelong passion in a child,” he said.
The chairwoman, Dr Gombingo, of the Moleli High School Development Committee, expressed her gratitude to the local responsible authority, the headmaster, teachers, and staff for their dedication and efforts in nurturing and guiding the students towards excellence.
She also thanked parents and guardians for their unwavering support and guidance.
To our students, your hard work, resilience and passion for learning has brought us this far. Congratulations to all prize winners and every student who has strived to excel but could not make it to the podium today.
