With more locals joining the popular soccer academy Dragon Force FC Porto, it seems the vision has extended to neighbouring countries who are flocking in for the great opportunity.
Two weeks ago, academy handlers confirmed that they were happy that hundreds of teens and youths from different backgrounds have registered, since its launch.
The agency ‘Dragon Force F.C Porto’ is a certified agency which is subscribed at the F.C Porto in Portugal.
The academy is nurturing talent from 3-20 years’ old who will then have an opportunity to participate on an international level — a chance to travel to Portugal among other countries. In an interview with the agency director Tichaona Mawoni, he said the numbers are increasing due to the school holidays.
“We have a huge turnout in mostly the U14, U16 and U18,” he said.
“This is due to the high success rate of players we took to Europe this year who all got signed by teams.”
Mawoni said they have received inquiries from neighbouring countries who also want to join with some already in the country.
“We were not surprised to receive players from Mozambique, Zambia and as far as Mali.”
“Yusuf Mustafa Drame came all the way from Mali as he knows our path leads to success at the highest level.”“We are geared for an intense program and looking forward to taking players to Portugal early next year,” he said.
Some parents said the agency is useful, especially during this holiday.
“I read about it two weeks ago and last weekend I paid a visit at Alex Sports Club, to understand and get first-hand information about the agency and get to know the coaches,” said Mrs Monalisa Makoni who had come to check on the updates of the academy.
“I later registered my two boys and I am happy with the discipline and integrity I observed at the club. The boys liked the uniform and the coaches were welcoming.
“They will start their session this weekend.”
The academy which is situated at Alexander Sports Club in Harare offers training, and transferable soccer skills with an ambition to give you an international market opportunity, thus after you register with them.
After the opening January of the football School in Fortaleza, Brazil, the implementation of the Dragon Force International Certification at FC Beira, in Mozambique, FC Porto opens now the Dragon Force Academy in Harare, Zimbabwe, making it the third project to be implemented internationally in 2023 by Dragon Force Academy.
