HIP HOP star Holy Ten has been freed from pre-trial detention as more details surrounding his arrest, on allegations of rape, emerged yesterday.
He was released on US$500 bail when he appeared before a Harare regional magistrate.
Represented by Admire Rubaya, the rapper was ordered to surrender his passport and to report to the police once a week until the matter is finalised.
He will be back in court on August 7.
More details related to Holy Ten’s arrest, which was first published exclusively by H-Metro, also emerged yesterday.
It is alleged that on Monday, at around 3pm, the complainant and her friend went to Avondale shops where the singer was recording his music.
The two waited for him to finish as she was supposed to feature in his music video.
The friend then left and the singer and the girl allegedly then went to a BnB in Hatfield, where Holy Ten is currently staying.
It is alleged Holy 10 took the girl to his room, threatened her and told her to comply with whatever he was doing or he would kill her.
He allegedly undressed her before pushing her onto the bed and raping her.
It is the State’s case that after the act, Holy 10 told one of his colleagues to request an InDrive for the complainant.
She then went to Avondale Shopping Centre where she met up with her aunt, whom she is staying with.
When she was asked where she had been, she first lied and claimed that she had visited a friend.
However, she later told her aunt what had happened and she accompanied her to file a report, leading to the arrest of the singer.
Holy Ten’s four colleagues, who are alleged to have played a part in the commissioning of the crime, are still at large.
