MOSQUITO GETS CAR BUT HE DOESN’T HAVE A LICENCE

FORMER Commonwealth flyweight boxing champion, Arifonso “Mosquito” Zvenyika, DOES NOT have a driver’s licence.

Yesterday, Mosquito received a brand new car and cash from Harare businessman Wicknell Chivayo.

However, he could not get the car from the dealers who sold the car because he does not have a driver’s licence.

These are the same complications he has been facing since he rose to fame after winning the Commonwealth flyweight boxing title in 1998.

Mosquito bought a Toyota Crown using the prize money he won after grabbing the Club title.

But he was later arrested and convicted for driving without a valid driver’s licence.

This time, he said, he wants to be very careful and play it according to the rules.

Yesterday, Mosquito viewed the Toyota Aqua he is receiving from Chivayo and tested the comfort of the vehicle.

His wife, Jesman Zvenyika, also tested the comfort of their new vehicle.

Jesman also does not have a driver’s licence. This means the couple could not take the vehicle from the dealer’s workshop.

The couple returned home in a hired car.

Mosquito said the gifts came when he least expected them.

“I was not expecting anything better in my life, besides relying on prayer.

“I was caught unprepared because I do not have a driver’s licence — neither does my wife.”

He said he will get the licence as soon as possible and then collect the vehicle properly.

“As for the cash, my wife’s life is back, and now I can take her to the medical doctors. “I have been healed today and my bones have been given new strength and life.

“My wife’s life is back.

“Vabvisa marombe muguruva. Vararamisa mapfupa angaoparara. May the Almighty God continue to bless him.

“Remain blessed, Sir Wicknell Chivayo.”

He revealed that he had been struggling financially.

“I was struggling to meet medical bills and even paying school fees for my children.

“You have healed our bones and revived our spirits.”

Madzibaba Chipaga, who runs the dealership, said the car will be released to Mosquito once he obtains a valid driver’s licence.

“We cannot allow you a test drive since you are not licensed to drive.

“The car is yours forever. You can come and see it daily even wash it, but you must collect it when you obtain a driver’s licence,” Madzibaba Chipaga said. One of Mosquito’s friends, Harrison Risinamhodzi, accompanied the former boxing champion.

“I wrote an article about donating groceries to Mosquito and posted it on social media on April 26 and I want to believe that this is the article Chivayo read.

“I did this without any payment, but kana zvakadai, I expect appreciation,” Risinamhodzi said.Another former boxer, Charles Manyuchi, collected his GD6 and cash yesterday.

  1. If I were mosquito I would sell this car and buy a number of wheelchairs for the disabled that are scattered around Mbare. I am sure God would reward him with more. If I were God, I would punish these moneybags while they are still alive just to teach them what humanity is all about.
