Mpho ‘Popps’ Modikoane has been announced as the host of the 2026 Content Creator Awards.
The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 17, at The Galleria in Sandton.
Known for his work in comedy, television, podcasting and live entertainment, Mpho Popps will bring his humour and energy to an event celebrating South Africa’s digital creators and the wider creator economy.
The entertainer said he was looking forward to celebrating the country’s digital talent and recognising creators who are shaping culture through their work.
“Content creators are literally driving culture right now,” Mpho Popps said. “They keep us laughing, informed, and inspired every single day on our phones.”
Content Creator Awards founder and One-eyed Jack founder Manuela Dias de Deus said Mpho Popps was chosen for his ability to connect with audiences and bring energy and spontaneity to the stage.
The 2026 awards, sponsored by Samsung, mark the fourth year of the programme, which launched in 2022.
The awards, recognise South Africa’s leading digital creators, as well as the brands, agencies and platforms contributing to the growth of the creator economy.
This year’s programme features 20 categories, with entry and judging criteria refined to reflect changes in the creator landscape.
