Mshini Lekwadu explains leaked messages with Emtee

Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 contestant, content creator, and Renault brand ambassador Mshini Lekwadu recently spoke out about leaked Instagram messages involving South African rapper Emtee. The rapper shared screenshots of their private conversation on his Instagram story, which upset Mshini because the clips made it seem like she shared her home address for unclear reasons.

Mshini responded by asking Emtee to share the full conversation, saying the screenshots without context are misleading. In an official statement, she explained the whole situation clearly:

“Statement from Mshini Lekwadu, I would like to address recent screenshots circulating on social media regarding my private messages with Emtee.

While in the Big Brother house, I openly supported Emtee because I am genuinely a fan of his music. After the show, he reached out to me via DM to express his appreciation for my support. I responded by telling him I am a fan and that I would love to be part of one of his future music videos.

Over time, we had brief interactions via DM, and in his last message he asked when he could visit and where I stayed. I responded with my address under the impression that our conversation was strictly business-related and in line with my support for his music.

The screenshots shared publicly only show the part where I sent my address, without the full context. This is misleading and does not reflect the nature of our conversations. My intention was purely professional, and I take my brand, my supporters, and my reputation very seriously.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support me and understand the importance of setting the record straight.”

On her Instagram story, Mshini also tagged Emtee and wrote: “Hey Emtee, I’ve always been a genuine supporter of your music. I see you’ve posted part of our DMs without the full context, which has caused misunderstandings. You know our chats were innocent and music-related. Please clear the air and post the full conversation, not just selected screenshots.”

Mshini’s message is clear − she wants the truth out and hopes to protect her reputation and relationship with her supporters − OK.
