Mudenda in Turkey to deepen ties

Speaker of the National Assembly Advocate Jacob Mudenda is in Turkey where he is leading a six-member delegation of legislators in bilateral discussions with his counterpart, captains of industry among others aimed at deepening cooperation.

His visit comes barely a month after Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Frederick Shava officially opened an embassy in Istanbul, as Zimbabwe heightened engagement and re-engagement efforts.

Adv Mudenda is accompanied by Chegutu East MP Cde Webster Shamu (Zanu-PF), Chairperson for the Portfolio Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, who also chairs the Zimbabwe-Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Others include Chimanimani East MP Cde Joshua Sacco (Zanu-PF), Deputy Chair of the Friendship Group; Mwenezi West MP, Cde Priscilla Moyo (Zanu-PF); Proportional Representative MP Ms Lindiwe Maphosa (MDC-T) and Pelendaba-Mpopoma MP Mr Charles Moyo (MDC-T)

Adv Mudenda’s visit is at the invitation of his counterpart, Professor Mustafa Sentop, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
