ENGLISH Premier League side Wolves have confirmed that Warriors vice-captain Marshal Munetsi is still recovering from a calf injury.

This effectively puts to rest lingering questions about the Zimbabwean’s injury concerns, which saw him being dropped from the squad that represented the country in the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Munetsi has created divided opinions among football stakeholders, especially after the midfielder suggested in various interviews that he was fit and ready for AFCON. This led to widespread assumptions that Munetsi had been omitted for reasons other than his injury by Warriors coach Marian Marinica.

However, Wolves, who are loaning Munetsi to French side Paris FC, have issued a statement on their website confirming the injury that has sidelined the player for six weeks since he sustained it in a match against Nottingham Forest on 3 December.

Wolves wrote: “Marshall Munetsi has moved to French outfit Paris FC for the remainder of the 2025/26 Ligue 1 season.

“But only two of the midfielder’s appearances have been under Rob Edwards, after Munetsi suffered a calf injury which has left him on the sidelines for the last six weeks and caused the Zimbabwean captain to miss leading his country at the Africa Cup of Nations.

“As he nears his return from injury, Munetsi will now spend the rest of the current season in France as he heads to Paris FC on loan.”
