The “Munondida Ndakadaro” Open Verse Challenge curated by multi-award-winning Gospel musician Everton Mlalazi, has officially closed with different young creatives participating on the challenge.
The initiative which lasted for three-weeks, was meant to offer a platform to emerging musicians to showcase their hidden talents while praising God.
Munondida Ndakadaro is a deep and meaningful Christian gospel song that featured on Mlalazi’s 2026 album titled Great God.
The winner of the challenge will be unveiled soon and he or she will be awarded US$1000 in cash.
A lot of factors will be considered on one’s verse to detemine the winner including, creativity, melody and music arangement, as well as social media engagement.
Mlalazi comfirmed that hundreds of young creatives from all over Zimbabwe, as well as from Zambia and South Africa, participated on the challenge.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who submitted their verses for the challenge which has since ended. Their creativity, passion and talent did not go unnoticed. We appreciate every artiste who took the time to be part of this moment.
“We have began the adjudication process, and the selection and voting for the winner will be based different criteria including creativity, were will be checking the originality and uniqueness of the song, including the artistic ideas expressed in the lyrics and performance.
“We will also consider audience’s response measured through views, likes, shares, and overall interaction on our page. The effective and creative use of languages in delivering the verse will also be considered,” he said.
