MUTARE is set to grapple with water shortage challenges after a breakdown in the reticulation system.
In a notice to the public today, City of Mutare said one of the main transmission lines has developed a fault.
“Notice is hereby given to all customers and stakeholders that we have recorded a breakdown of the 450mm clear water transmission resulting in the reduced delivery of water to Christmas Pass balancing tanks, and thus affecting supply citywide,” reads the statement.
The local authority said the fault is already being attended to and expected to be rectified in three days.
“The city will provide water bowsers at central points to distressed areas,” adds the notice.
The local authority urged residents to use water sparingly during the period.
