MWOS goalkeeper Francis Tizayi delivered a stellar first-half performance, pulling off a series of fine saves to deny Highlanders FC as the two sides went into the break deadlocked.
Highlanders showed attacking intent early, with Never Rauzhi breaking free in the eighth minute, but he blasted his effort over the bar with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Tizayi was called into action in the 14th minute, producing a superb save to stop Nigerian striker Benjamin Adeogun after a clever dummy from Mongameli Tshuma opened up the MWOS defence.
The shot-stopper continued to frustrate Bosso, pulling off a brilliant double save just four minutes later after Rauzhi had sneaked in from the left flank.
Highlanders suffered a setback in the 32nd minute when Shelton Moyo was forced off due to injury, with Brighton Ncube coming in as a replacement.
Bosso maintained their dominance, and in the 36th minute Tshuma dazzled as he dribbled past three defenders, but lost possession before taking a shot.
MWOS also threatened through veteran striker Billy Veremu, who came close on two occasions.
In added time, Highlanders were left scrambling after conceding two successive corners, with defenders clearing off the line on both occasions following dangerous deliveries that goalkeeper Reward Muza struggled to handle.
