MYSTERY MURDER IN GWANDA: Man battered to death in night attack

There is shock and unease in Spitzkop North, Gwanda, after a 22-year-old man was brutally murdered inside a house under mysterious circumstances.
Police confirmed the death of Trymore Mathwasa, who was reportedly attacked by unknown assailants on 6 November. The nature of the weapons used is still unclear, but police say the killers “used some objects” to end his life.

The motive is still a complete mystery.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi has since issued a public appeal:

“Police in Gwanda are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of murder which occurred on 06/11/25 at a house in Spitzkop North. Suspects yet to be identified attacked the victim, Trymore Mathwasa (22), to death with some objects for unknown reasons. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.”
Police in Gwanda are urging anyone who may have seen unfamiliar faces in the area or noticed strange activity around the house that night to come forward as investigations continue.
