AS the nation intensifies conversations around men’s health, Mzoe 7 has released a new single highlighting Gender-Based Violence (GBV) against men, an often-ignored reality.

The track, Angisalali Ekhaya, dropped last week ahead of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, which runs from November 25 to December 10. The title, meaning “I no longer sleep at home”, echoes the fear, trauma and displacement experienced by male victims who flee violent partners.

Featuring smooth vocals from Macala and production by K Martin, the song blends compelling storytelling with a strong advocacy message. Its impact is further elevated by a polished music video shot by Keaitse Films and Brand Urgency. The visuals star a cast of popular creatives, including Sporori, Umnikazi Wempuphu, Khalanga leNkosi, Skaiva and others, amplifying the song’s reach across social media and the arts sector.

Mzoe 7 said the project seeks to give voice to men suffering in silence.
“My work contributes to breaking the stigma that stops men from speaking about abuse – physical, emotional or psychological,” he said. “The video brings the message to life through influential personalities whose presence adds weight to the conversation.”

Mzoe 7 is also rolling out an online and community campaign titled Majita, Let’s Talk, aimed at creating safe spaces for men to openly discuss GBV, mental health and trauma. During the 16 Days of Activism, he will host a series of seminars where men can share experiences without judgment, learn about available support systems and challenge the toxic masculinity that enforces silence. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
