National hero Cde Edward Raradza laid to rest

National Hero Cde Edward Raradza has been buried with military honours at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.

The burial ceremony, attended by thousands of mourners and presided over by President Mnangagwa this morning, saw Cde Raradza being remembered as a philanthropist and champion of black entrepreneurship.

As his body was lowered into the grave, members of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces sounded the Last Post, marking the final farewell to the national hero.

Cde Raradza was also honoured with a gun salute by members of the ZDF.

As part of tradition, a national flag was handed over to his widow in honour of his service to the country.
