AS the world now focuses on Women’s Month, Ndomupeishe “NdoMzy,” Chipendowho is humbled to have made history as the first female Creative Director for the prestigious National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA).
NdoMzy said the 24th NAMA edition, which was held on Saturday at Harare International Convention Centre, was more than just an event but a defining moment.
“I am profoundly humbled and inspired by the events of this past weekend.
“NAMA24 has truly been a transformative experience for me.
“Being the first female Creative Director for such a significant national event like NAMA and being entrusted to bring innovative ideas to fruition is nothing short of extraordinary,” she said.
NdoMzy, who is also Feli Nandi’s sister, shared her gratitude to Scarlet Business Comms and Event Evolution for entrusting her with the creative reins of the awards ceremony.
“A heartfelt thank you to Scarlet Business Comms and Event Evolution for placing their trust in me to lead the creative direction of the NAMA awards.
“I feel privileged to have collaborated with the talented Daniel Chiweddar without your musical genius, the show wouldn’t have been as remarkable.
“To the entire behind-the-scenes team, this victory is a testament to our collective efforts. Here’s to many more successes ahead.
“To all the dancers, backing vocalists, the house band and the entire team behind the scenes, I’m short of words and truly humbled to have had an opportunity to work with such talented performers. May your gifts continue to make room for you all,” she said.
Beyond her freelance work as a dancer and instructor, she is a backing vocalist and percussionist for Hope Masike’s band.
