NEW: Lifeline for Agama as they seal sponsorship deal with AMV

AGAMA skipper and top marksman Tinashe Balakasi says the team is now focused on the match against Manica Diamonds following a “life-changing deal” for the Mt Darwin-based team.
Agama entered into a 50-50 partnership deal with Africa Minerals Venture (AMV) on Wednesday.
Thanks to the development, Agama players received their outstanding salaries and allowances.
That was a major boost for the club ahead of a potentially exciting fixture against Manica Diamonds at Sakubva Stadium on Saturday.
The deal between Agama and AVM is set to transform the Mt Darwin side’s professional outlook.
The massive cash injection by AVM could boost morale at Agama, who of late have been playing some good football.
Veteran striker Balakasi is a relieved man.
“As players, we are beyond happy and relieved. It is a massive weight off our shoulders to have our outstanding salaries cleared in full by the new partners,” the former CAPS United star said.
Agama are targeting their first Premier Soccer League win when they clash with Manica Diamonds.
They are second from the bottom with four points from 10 matches.
Manica Diamonds anchor the 18-team Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings.
“It has been difficult focusing solely on football with these issues of salaries hanging over us, but the professionalism shown by AMV has immediately changed the atmosphere in the dressing room,” added Balakasi.
The lanky striker has vast Premiership experience, having turned out for CAPS United, Harare City and Simba Bhora.
He is expected to lead a front line that also includes Grey Kufandada, who scored a brace when Agama held unbeaten Ngezi Platinum Stars 2-2 at Baobab Stadium a couple of weeks ago.
