MISS Global Zimbabwe, Nomqhele Sisa Nkomo, is proud to represent the country at the international stage despite failing to secure a place among the winners.
Nkomo, who finished in the top 25 at the Miss Global beauty pageant, said although she had hoped for a different outcome, she was proud of the effort and sacrifices she made during her preparations.
She acknowledged that there were areas where she wished she had performed better but said she was willing to learn and improve.
“Beyond the result, I am proud of myself. Proud that I showed up, proud that I challenged myself, proud of the effort I put into preparing for this opportunity, and proud that I had the privilege of representing my beautiful country, Zimbabwe, on an international stage,” she said.
Nkomo said the experience has taught her many important lessons about resilience, personal growth and the importance of learning from challenges.
The beauty queen also highlighted the work and sacrifices that went into her journey, saying there were many challenges she had to overcome behind the scenes.
She said she would return from the experience with valuable lessons, memories and a renewed determination to continue working towards her goals.
“Unfortunately, I did not secure a placement at Miss Global 2026.
“While this is not the outcome I had hoped and worked for, I leave this experience knowing that I gave it my best. Of course, there are areas where I wish I had done better and moments I wish I had performed differently.
“I am human, and I know there is always room to grow, learn, and become better.”
Nkomo thanked those who supported her and cheered for Zimbabwe through her participation, saying their support reminded her that the journey was bigger than herself.
“This may be the end of my Miss Global 2026 journey, but it is certainly not the end of my story.
“There is still so much to do, so much to learn, and so much more of myself to give.
“This journey has taught me so much about myself, about resilience, and about the woman I am becoming.
“I may not be returning home with the placement I dreamed of but I am returning with lessons, memories, growth, and a renewed determination to keep working towards the things I believe in.
“To everyone who believed in me, supported me, and cheered for Zimbabwe through me, thank you for allowing me to carry your hopes and for reminding me that this journey was bigger than myself.
“I hope I have made you proud in my own way,” she said.
