NO one was injured during a brazen daylight armed robbery at a Jet clothing store at Bulawayo Centre on Wednesday morning, as police and private security officers launched investigations into the incident.

The robbery occurred at around 9.30am, sending shockwaves through shoppers and business operators in the city centre.

Details emerging from the scene indicate that although the robbers targeted the retail outlet during business hours, no staff members or customers were harmed.

An armed response team from Safeguard Security Company, together with an armed officer from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), swiftly attended the scene and cordoned off the area as investigations got underway.

Police were still processing the crime scene by mid-morning, while further details, including the amount of money or goods stolen and the number of suspects involved, were yet to be established.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police is expected to issue a statement once preliminary investigations have been completed.
